Worship at Chapel by the Sea
Worship at Chapel by the Sea brings together diverse people who gather to offer God genuine hearts filled with gratitude and praise.
Through uplifting music and inspiring messages, individuals are challenged to grow in faith in God and in service to humankind.
Our worship might be characterized as casual traditional. We have an amazing choir anchored by professional section leaders and vocal students who have received one of our music scholarships thanks to an endowed music fund. Our choir performs selections ranging from gospel to traditional according to the Christian calendar. Dr. Marilyn Michael, our director of music, leads from the organ or piano. From time to time we have additional instrumentalists to add to the rich variety of music we enjoy at the Chapel.
Elements of Worship
Each week at the Chapel you’ll sing great hymns of the faith, some new, some classic. You’ll enjoy an anthem from our choir and special music from one of our amazing vocalists. Together we’ll read litanies and prayers; we’ll sing the Doxology and recite the Lord’s Prayer. Our pastor’s sermons add warmth and humor with a casual and thought-provoking style.
Normally on the first Sunday of each month, we celebrate the sacrament of Holy Communion. We offer both wine and grape juice in order to accommodate the various traditions from which we come.
Come as you are! Many of us dress business casual with a few folks in suits and others in shorts and t-shirts. We are a beach church, after all!
